My name is Francesco Pagliaro and, first of all, thank you for visiting my website. It represents for me a space independent from any other platform and from any algorithm that can potentially interfere between you and the contents I publish. Though I use frequently social networks and online communities, I consider it as a major tool for my content and communication strategy.
Francesco Pagliaro – résumé
In my career, I have worked in companies that are very different from each other, both in terms of size and reference market. The university and post-graduate course provided me with good foundations but to have this versatility a good dose of curiosity and a predisposition for continuous training are also necessary. These are two of the pillars on which every professional must build his career and his daily commitment.
Another guideline that I try to follow is to understand how to create value for the customer, in the broadest sense of the term, and to translate it into coherent projects to be completed.
No one works alone: knowing how to work in a team as well as being able to lead people are fundamental skills that I am committed to improving every day.
I realize that these concepts are recalled so many times and in so many areas that they are almost meaningless slogans. Challenging yourself to translate these principles into concrete actions is the key to averting this danger.
I am a mechanical engineer and after brief work experience, I decided to attend a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) at the LUISS Business School in Rome. The goal was to expand my solid technical training, supporting it with the principles of sound business management.
My work experience took place in different professional families but those on which I have accumulated the most skills are “Procurement & Supply Chain”, where I still work, and “Finance and Control”.
Mar 2016 – today. Leonardo Spa. I work for the helicopter division within the Italian Production Procurement and I manage a team of buyers. I am in charge of a group of commodities, managing existing contracts or carrying out spot tenders. For some of them, the scope also includes more strategic Sourcing & Contracting activities.
Jan 2013 – Dec 2015. Management consulting on Finance and Control with entrepreneurs and small companies.
Continuous Improvement Leader
Jan 2012 – Dec 2012. HARSCO METALS – Italy. The goals that the company gave me were to develop a widespread culture of continuous improvement and to identify opportunities for improvement. To achieve them I have trained many people on basic concepts like 5S and Visual Management and have led several kaizen events.
Financial Planning & Analysis Manager
Jun 2005 – Dec 2011. METALS – Italy. I was in charge of the budgeting and reporting process of the legal entities and plants of HARSCO METALS in Italy. The main focus was on controlling the profitability of all business lines. The approach was not only ex-post but also ex-ante. I evaluated the economic and financial feasibility of new projects and tenders on new contracts. I worked more frequently on control and cost reduction projects together with department heads, maintenance managers and buyers.
